How the work happens

Since February 2022, the Kingston Harbour Cleanup Project has been working daily to reduce plastic pollution through innovative waste-trapping technology, outreach and education programmes, volunteer-led beach cleanups, and targeted legacy cleanups.

Why the harbour matters

Kingston Harbour is a national treasure, home to mangrove forests, fishing communities, and over 60,000 residents. Without intervention, plastic waste would continue to threaten ecosystems, livelihoods, and contribute to global ocean pollution.
